AMD has announced today that it is the exclusive partner of Starfield on PC, with the company promising to "deliver the most complete PC gaming experience in the galaxy." It's not just PC players that will benefit from this partnership though - Xbox Series X|S players will, too.

The company says it has been working with Bethesda to optimise Starfield for Ryzen 7000 series processors and Radeon 7000 series graphics cards, as well as Xbox consoles. AMD claims that this will result in accelerated performance and an enhanced quality of gameplay using "highly multi-threaded code".

In addition, the game will benefit from AMD's FidelityFX - Super Resolution 2 technology across Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. Here's what Bethesda's Todd Howard had to say about this earlier today:

"We have AMD engineers in our code base working on FSR 2 image processing and upscaling and it looks incredible. You're going to get the benefits of that obviously on your PC, but also on Xbox."

You can check out the full announcement video above, and don't forget that Starfield launches on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming — all as part of Xbox Game Pass — on September 6th, 2023.
